EICR IN READING

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a document that is produced following an electrical inspection. The report will detail any situations that are immediately dangerous, potentially dangerous or where improvement is recommended.
Observations are produced and a severity code applied to each observation relating to the danger which it presents.
C1- Live parts exposed or serious risk of shock. These situations should be rectified immediately.
C2- Potentially dangerous situations. These situations should be rectified without delay.
C3- Improvement recommended. There is no danger at present but recommendations for improvement should be made and any repairs are recommended.
FI- Further Investigation is required. This is normally applied to a report where the inspector suspects that further investigation will lead to the discovery of a situation attracting a C2 or C1 code.
